Welcome to Freelance Writing World!
Freelance Writing World is an online resource which aims to help freelance writers find useful resources. We hope we'll be able to help you achieve career success, financial security and creative inspiration!
Writing can be an isolating career – especially if you're living the life of a freelance writer. Unlike other professions, you often can't bounce ideas off colleagues, you don't have access to a huge corporate library and there could be a lack of nearby mentors.
Who are we?
Freelance Writing World has been set up by four freelance writers – Sarah Craven, Martin Baldwin, Gemma Ashley and John Waters. We're all at different stages of our freelance writing path but we have been lucky enough to get together in an informal network where we have shared ideas and useful tips with each other.
We realised that this information sharing has been so valuable to us that many other freelancers might be able to benefit from it too.
We're recommending books or courses that have helped us. (And yes, we've left out the ones that haven't helped us!). And we hope that you might find this site useful too.
Why are we doing this?
We started this off as an informal blog/website because it was an easy way to share information with each other. Then we but realised that other people found the blog/website useful too. So we've refined it a bit (okay a lot) to make it useful for other people – and ourselves!
We've used the internet to share information with each other and to search for online courses and resources to help us in our freelance writing careers.
With Freelance Writing World, we hope to take a lot away a lot of legwork for you. Think of it as hundreds (maybe even thousands) of hours of researching and surfing condensed into one easy site designed just for freelance writers.
